Just realized I never posted in here.

the different stuff from a regular '73:
    3.0L Rebello Racing engine
    Triple 44mm Mikuni carburetors
    Tokico blues
    Motorsport springs
    4 piston calipers up front
    some aftermarket ignition coil
    amsoil dual filter setup.

and now the pictars (Yes, it needs a good wash/wax/new paint job)

Oh, and the stickers are off it now.

First car that I actually owned (used to drive the silver Audi in the top pic, that goes back to my dad). All my own money. When the car first went to the dyno, it put down 170whp (dyno wasn't fully calibrated yet, so might have been as high as 180-190), but a misadjusted throttle cable installation prevented it from going WOT. When I fix that, I should be putting down about 220-250 at the wheels.

    do drive :big grin:

it rattles, shakes, the suspension beats me up on the shitty ass roads out here, lots of windnoise, doesn't like to idle cold, but goddamn it is fun.

I'm going to be driving in everything from 10 degree weather during the winter (no snow luckily), to 120ish during the summer....and there is no AC, and the heater doesn't work :eek3:

As long as you own a jacket and the windows work, you will be fine all year round.

Any plans to work on the suspension? That engine bay is CLEAN!

The suspension has already been worked over, so it really isn't near the top of my list. First thing I am going to do is redo some of the interior (hatch area panels and the like), then get another bucket seat, 5pt harness setup, etc.

Then comes the engine, then the brakes and suspension.

  6. how hard is it to find these with no rust now a days?

    At the risk of seeming redundant (I've stated my opinion of this car before);

Got it for 5,800. The engine if I had done this car from a shell would have cost more than that. Not counting labor.

yah, EVERYTHING, including the RB25DET tranny for 4k.

The engine bay is actually pretty dirty right now. I got rid of that insulation, but some of the cotton (actually, a fair bit), didn't come off, so now it is slowly charring and getting ash and shit on my engine/carbs. I need to finish cleaning it sometime soon :o

    Don't give it a Rb26

Like you said, its still a old car that dives and rattles. It would be for wank factor and nothing else.

    :eek3: shmick engine bay

unless you're going to upgrade every other part of the car except the basic frame don't switch to the RB, it'll be a waste of time and money.

    love it though :coold:

I'm going to RB it eventually, but all I'm going to change engine wise in the near(ish) future is to switch over to a P90 head and turbo setup. I'm not going to bump the power up much, only to maybe 300-350 at the wheels, but mostly I'll be doing it for the fuel mileage gains. Seeing people with 400whp L series engines getting an observed 28mpg highway makes me jealous :(

I'm going to RB it eventually, but that's WAY down the road, after a L30et setup, and after college for sure.

and hey, atleast it will still be a proper I-6 car :o

Panzy, do you work for ESRI, by any chance? The only people I know who give out lat/long coordinates are GIS nerds.

    (my company makes digital maps.)

That price includes trading the shop your current engine, so I'm going to have to figure out how much I could sell the L30/E88 setup for (but not the carbs, I'm keeping those sucks, worth their weight in gold).

:h5: easily solution: DD the 510 or the Z :big grin: You get used to driving in below freezing weather with no heater quickly :mamoru:
