I'm looking at 1911s with a few requirements:

    Under $800
    5"
.45 (obviously. But, there are other calibers out there.)
    Reliable
    Accurate

It's gonna be a daily carry gun, so durability is also important. Also, good IWB holster manufacturers?

Sounds like you want a Springy or S&W 1911.

Comp-Tac MTAC and Milt Sparks are great holsters.

Well, I'm at 800 problem-free rounds now with this new barrel, so we'll see how it goes.
Before the new barrel, I was skeptical. After this new barrel, I've been increasingly pleased.

That would mostly be ergonomics. It's just a great feeling gun.
But of course that means nothing if it can't feel great AND be reliable.

I like the Glock trigger pull and break more than the M&P, but I hate the little nub in the trigger on the Glock.
After shooting for long periods of time, it starts wearing down my finger tip a bit. Well, just the flesh.

I'm not as concerned about trigger as I am reliability. You can get a trigger job done on any gun, but if it's not reliable who the fuck cares.
I gave S&W one chance to make it right, and so far they've accomplished that.
If I had gotten my gun back and it was still more of the same, I probably would have just off-loaded the gun on someone else, I'm not a very patient person.

It also cost you twice as much as I make in a whole month. No thanks.
Maybe someday, but right now I can't afford to put into a gun what some people put into a daily driver car.

The TRS is not even that expensive compared to other semi-custom 1911s...

I like the Baers, but not a big fan of the sharp serrations....still not sure what brand semi-custom I want to go with for my next 1911...

    PT1911. Mine's gone from round 100 to over 3000 without a hiccup.

I just want to warn that the LDA double stack Para's, and Compact Para's are junk... especially the Warthog.
They do have a couple tradition SA single stack 1911's that are decent, but most of their line is just sheer crap.
