16ga or 18ga?

    im gonna be amping all 4 speakers in my car with 40w each. it'll be approxmiately 15-17ft long from the trunk connected to the HU harness.

    should i go with 16ga or 18ga?
    *price isnt an issue for me at this point, im willing to spend more if neccesary*

    16awg will be fine

    Yea, 18 is a little small. I say just run as large of a gauge as is reasonable if money isn't an issue. It allows for a "safety factor" and future upgradability. If you have reasonable space for extra cable in your car and money isn't an issue I would just go ahead and run 12awg.

    I bought a 50ft reel of Stinger 12ga "high performance cable" from bag-boy on ebay for like $28 shipped. I think they had other sizes, but I am going for overkill on the rest of the system wiring, speakers should be no different.
