I'm thinking about doing this today as a workout since my splits have been messed up this week. Plus, I think the 150 pull ups are going to be pretty challenging. What yall think?

It really shouldn't be that difficult... never tried the dips and pullups together but doing both in 20 min should be feasible. :dunno:

I did 100 of each but never 150. The pullups were hard as fuck cause I could only do about 10 for my first set.... by the end of it i was doing sets of 3 and 4.

it's a fun way to change things up, and a great way to feel sore the next day.

  8. are you talking about wide grip pull ups ?

I've done 120 of each as a workout modification when I couldn't do muscle ups (4 pull ups + 4 dips = 1 muscle up). Took me less than 20 minutes. I was constantly hopping between the two though. And for the record they were dead hang pull ups.

Its easier to do more, if you don't take any set close to failure.

Today because of this thread for my volume back I did...

neutral grip pullups (1 min int)
    bw/8x25
    (200 total/ 24:13 min)

wide g. pulldown (1 min int)
    120/10x4

behind neck pulldown (1 min int)
    120/10x4

stiff arm pulldown (1 min int)
    75/10x4

chest supported machine rows (1 min int)
    90/10x4

rear delt machine (1 min int)
    90/12x4

    (45 sets/ 48:21 min)

I tried for 200 pull ups (plus rows, and various other back exercises).
    I got upto 175.
    3x15 wide
    3x10 chin up style
    3x10 shoulder width
    3x10 super close
    some more wide etc....upto 175

Its more about endurance the strength after a certain point.

jesus how tall are you? I'm 6'5" so my wingspan isn't TOO much longer than my height but it still sucks for stuff like benching and bodyweight exercises. Having a further distanced point of leverage sucks for just about any lift but I don't really seem to notice it on anything but benching and bodyweight exercises (particularly dips and pullups).

Pull ups with horrible form? Maybe. 150 proper pullups is serious though. :eek3: Good luck.
