wow... that has to be one of the larger tannerite explosions... i'm guessing they made their own...
They sound kinda....rural.
OK I've never messed with Tannerite... what would happen if you put some into a hollowpoint? Would it kB upon firing, or would you just have an explosive round?
Edit: Holy crap that was a big explosion!
just found this video
in for answer
what are the ingredients for tannerite?
1 part dark aluminum flake to 9 parts ammonium nitrate. don't blow yer self up tho.
good luck finding dark aluminum flake now, thanks alot fucking cpsc, keeping us safe from our selves.. I've used titanium flake and potassium chlorate too but I don't recomend this combo unless you have some experience because it is even more sensative and can be set off if you drop it.
I'm pretty sure you can get aluminum powder and flake off of eBay. It's not cheap, and i'm sure you end up on some watch list or something, but it's there.
what the fuck exactly is dark aluminum flake??
On January 14th 2008, a man in Red Wing, Minnesota was accused of detonating 100 lb (45 kg). of tannerite inside the bed of a dump truck by shooting it with a .50 caliber rifle from 300 yards (270 m) away. The ensuing blast could be felt at Prairie Island Nuclear Power Plant, and officials from the FBI, BATF, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, US Postal Service, and the US Coast Guard have become involved, along with local law enforcement agencies. The man, Brian Wesley Childs, was arrested for gross disregard for human life and destruction of property with an explosive or incendiary.

Awww ran into that problem many times when I was a child, where could I get aluminum powder, and low and behold, any autoparts store or WallyWorld carries it. Called StopLeak radiator treatment, 100 percent pure and its 2 bucks. Take the liquid out of it and boom theres your street legal 100 percent pure aluminum powder. And since its a 1/10 ratio, its all you need. And you can get nitrate anywhere.
