Bought me a new case yesterday, and I'm likely to need some new case fans. What are the fans to look for to be quiet and still move a decent amount of air?

This should get you started on at least what brands and specs to look for

You could also buy from here as well, but then you might find them cheaper local or through Newegg.com

Since you're in Houston, check out Directron.com, their prices are pretty much equal to Newegg, but you trade the shipping cost for the price of tax.

Antec Tri-cool fans have a great noise to airflow ratio.

I'm running three of them, plus Zalman coolers on my cpu and graphics card.

Everything is set to low, and my temps are all excellent.

I like SilenX fans. I put them in all my computers, including my father's noise-sensitive audio recording machine.

Look for a fan that is under 30 dB, preferably under 27 dB and with 7 to 9 blades. These tend to be 25mm wide fans. Then you can add a rheostat to knock down the voltage and make them quieter.

I prefer 120mm fans in the 40 to 80 cfm range, with one intake and one in a heat pipe / heat stove configuration (the rear exit holes are blocked off.) If you have two 28 dB fans, one intake and one exhaust, the resultant noise level is 31 dB. (Each fan increases the noise level by 3 dB.)

I had a YTech FD1212387B-2R which is a 38mm 131.5cfm 45dB 2800rpm fan which failed to cool my pc. I replaced it with two 77cfm 28dB 25mm fans in a heatpipe configuration and the temps dropped 20 degrees F.

SilenX fans come with screwless rubber mounts that effectively eliminate any vibration noise whatsoever. They're very handy.
