    ffuuuuuu

boxing week is always the hardest week of the year for me. the Mac's Midget Tournament in Calgary is the biggest 16-18 year old hockey tournament in the world. ESPN calls it the best minor hockey tournament in the world, 40 teams (25 mens, 15 womens) over 7 days. I worked about 117 hours total over the 7 days..

we set up retail on the concourse, so for 85% of the shooting, it's boring hockey card poses, because that's what the people want to buy. usually, if someone else is in the frame, they don't want it. this stifles the creativity a bit, but once you have everyone multiple times you can start to loosen up a bit. here is a quick edit of some nicer shots:

    Barry's turf... :-(
    Wow!

I love the emotion you have captured in some of these shots.

Taking action shots for hockey is why I am learning photography. I can't find many examples of work to learn from.

Sports sure...but hockey is a different animal because (from what I am told) the speed, lighting and "white of the ice". I guess this plays hell on the camera's settings...again...as I am told.

    #6 is funny!

The coach on the left looks like he is yelling at the ref and the other two coaches look like they are thinking "you dumb ass kid"! lol

If I ever make it to Canada, you have to let me shoot 1 game with you! Everytime I go to a Blackhawks game, they wont let me bring my camera in.
