110 fps...WTF?

    aight here's the deal i just got a new vid card..the 6800 ultra and i tried the vid stress test on CS source...and all i got was 110fps....and i've spent hours tryin to get it up to 170-180 or so...and FTL!...i have an amd 64 3800+ with 2gb ram liquid cooled a MSI k8n sli platinum mobo and i seriously do not know what is happening...can someone please help me FTW

    i overclocked my geforce 6800 ultra SLI setup so i can get 1253 FPS in Half-Life. Man, does it ever look sweet.

    110fps is pretty damn good...the only you are going to get 180fps is to look at the floor.

    you can change your resolution and video settings and get any score you want in teh source test. try running it @ 800X600 with the eye candy turned off lol.

    lol, oh man... he's just kidding there. What they're trying to say is that your eye cannot tell the difference between 110fps and 180fps. Therefore, even if you achieve 180fps, you won't notice an increase.

    Considering that your eye can't process much more than 60 fps...

    the human eye can detect at max 60 fps let it go noob it is not the computer that makes the player

    110fps is almost fucking double the amount of FPS you can see anyway

    what fucking difference does it make?

    i get 120 and when it gets "laggy i drop to 80ish but i tell no difference b/c guess what you can only see so many FPS anyway

    well im not gonna notice it but i will when my computer lags to like 40fps...whitch has happened a few times

    Movies are shown in 24 fps, NTSC is 60 and PAL is 50. You can notice the flicker on PAL TVs.

    the 110 isn't seen 100% of the time. what happens when his fps is cut to half because there are 11ty billion smoke grenades (i major code problem in 1.6 that cause shitty fps when you looked at a smoke grenade, i dunno if there's something like that in source. it's just an example. fuck).

    if your fps is higher then you have more "buffer" between your average fps and the noticably slowed fps of.. 24 or whatever ur eye can detect (i've heard 24 for movies, 60 for games. whatever whatever).
