I'm not a fan. You get a higher resolution on a 24" so you get more useable space on the 24" and the picture doesn't look as stretched. Only time I would ever use one as a monitor is if I am using it as a tv and sitting a fair distance away from the screen.

    pros:
    huge
    can sit far away

    cons:
    resolution isn't anything special
    have to sit farther away
    expensive
    huge

i have a machine that i use mostly as a media server hooked up to my HDTV.

1920x1080 resolution might not be amazing, but it's good enough to display web pages and video at a nice high res for couch-distance viewing. good for a media center PC as well.

It looks perfectly fine on a 32". Text is easier to read, everything is still crisp.
If you read the thread above from the people who actually own a TV as a display they are all happy with it.

I will never go back to a regular monitor. For gaming and movies 16:9 > 16:10.

I sit arms length from the TV and it looks superb.

I had mine hooked up to my 720p plasma for a while, it was alright when you were sitting about 8 or 10 feet away. Not much room to do shit though. It was only for video and light internet browsing. I wouldn't just buy a HDTV as a monitor though.
