Found out a couple of weeks ago that there is a range only 5 minutes away from me. Something having to do with the deputy association.
I asked him how long the rabge is, and he says 100 yards. Then I ask him if there are any types of guns not allowed at the range, and he says its only for handguns and shotguns. What the fuck? A rifle is the only type of gun I ever feel like shooting. Im sure as hell not going to fire a handgun 100 yards and hit anything at all, and if I want to use my shotgun Ill just go to the country.

How can they NOT have any rifle range at all? :ugh:

Only $40 dollars a year though. :hsd:

I think Ill just wait to see if they open the National sportsmans park up to the public. Its only 20 minutes away, and they have 120 traps, and are building the rifle/handgun range right now. :coold:

be happy there is a range near you at all, the closest public rifle range (100yds max) around me is almost an hour and a half away, and the closest public pistol range is 30 min away, but it doesn't apply to me since i'm under 21. the private ranges around me are 50 yds max and want a yearly membership, which i will not pay since i dont go everyother day like alot of you :hs:

That range does me no good since Im not even 21 yet anyways and cant posess a handgun w/o an "adult" around since a 20 year old doesnt count as one

All I know is when I turn 21 Im going to join the gun club that my dad is a part of. 100 yards max with target posts, then theres another 25 yards after that where they have irong swinging targets set up. And they also have a trap part set up, and a cinder block wall separating it. But its a little over an hour away ftl

But $25 membership fee ftw :coold:

the range i go to is free, except i have to buy a range liscense thingy since its a state owned range. however i can only shoot paper targets and no rapid fire period. it's a really nice range, i just wish it wasn't so damn far away. living in suburbia FTMFL.

I can go to the range 30 minutes away from me whenever I feel like it. I have had guns ever since I was about 10 years old, and my dad trusts me to store them myself. I just dont want to go there and pay $10 an hour and buy their targets. Besides that range is only 25 yards. At that distance its only really challenging to use a handgun.

Im looking for an outside range nearby that is run by a non profit organization. That way I dont have to pay an assload, and I can go there whenever I feel like it. I want to go there in the middle of the week and shoot by myself. The gun club my dad belongs to is like this, but they require their members to be 21.

My dad can take me if he wants. Its just that for the first time in over a year hes went there, meaning that for the first time in over a year is when I was last there. I just want to join a range for myself and go whenever I feel like it. Its inconvenient to always be someone elses guest.

Still. Longest range ive ever seen myself is 125 yards. 300 is pretty impressive for a private one. Plus, its free, and you can go whenever you want

That's great if you only want to shoot at 75ft.

damnit. The closest 200+ yard range to me is about an hour south, and even then they dont open up the 500 yard part except for a once a month long range shoot (right next to the state pen :hsugh:

Fortunatly, a private range already exists about 10 minutes away from me, and they are expanding it to 500 yards right now :big grin:, plus, I already know the owners, so no range fee for me.
