I'm thinking about getting some stuff for my desktop I built back in February.
    Here's what I got:

    Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 GHz
    NVIDIA GTS 8800 512 MB
    4 x Corsair 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM
    Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB
    22" Acer Monitor
    Zalman 9700 CPU Cooler
    GA-P35-DS3R Motherboard
    Antec 900 Case
    Antec True Power 650W PS

I have shitty speakers, and no mic so these could be legit options. I'm also somewhat of a gamer and was thinking about upgrading something that could improve performance, but I know that could get expensive.

In other words, if you could upgrade/buy something for this system what would it be?

Buy a set of Turtle Beach Ear Force HPA2 headphones, they are $99, they are fully surround sound headphones with amazing booming bass, + mic & are designed by the gods (think pass thrus for speakers and good external power supply) (and inline disconnect incase shit gets tangled).

They are so good I even had to buy a set for my work laptop just to listen to music on.

I hardly ever endorse things, everything has design flaws... but these are so close to perfect they have my approval (only complaint is mic is not super sexy looking but very well designed for comfort, sound and removability).

oh shit just noticed your a gamer.

These are DEFINATLY for you then.

Fuck 5.1 speaker set ups... you have to turn them up too loud to get surround sound benefits.
