I finally got my papers and the gun is off at the smith getting engraved. For just about the same price I can get either a 11.5" stag chrome lined assembly or a 10.25 chrome moly er shaw from model 1 sales. They have a chrome lined Shaw for 220.

I absolutely love the way the 10.25 looks with the FH right at the FSB as apposed to the 11.5 with the 1" of barrel past the fsb.

    What do you guys think?

I have an ER shaw 10.5" barrel, and it's a great barrel. Unless you plan on shooting 100k rnds through the barrel in the next few years, chrome lining isn't really necessary

The M1S barrels I've seen had some sloppy crowns.

A suppressor is way down the road if ever. Why do you need the longer barrel though?

You don't need a longer barrel. Most suppressor manufacturers will warranty their cans down to 10.5" Shorter barrels are slightly harder on the cans so the shorter the barrel the shorter suppressor's lifetime. If you buy a nice can with an inconel blast baffle, I doubt you'll ever shoot it out.

Chrome moly barrels is like saying you're going to get a genuine metallic knife. It's just supposed to sound close enough to "chrome-lined" that people who don't know will assume its the same.

Get the Stag. You WILL regret it if you skimp on $100 and buy some cheap shit just because you want to get it built in a hurry.

If you like the looks, think about this; "real Colt" shorties only came as 11.5"

If you buy the M1S, I will show up at NPD and put your head through the monitor bank.

Mine was approved on the 28th of July and is sitting at my dealer's place now, just under 8 weeks door-to-door. Check your status L4zy, you should have yours soon.
