    I have a 10/22 with a TacSol 16" fluted barrel (non-threaded).

Can I get an muzzle brake that attaches with a set screw for that barrel? or would I need to have a threaded barrel for that?

I'd just do some google searching myself, but every good resource website is blocked at my office. :wtc:

I haven't seen one, other than the AR types that fit over the factory barrel and are pinned on. I guess you would be looking for something that clamps to a .920 tube? That's gonna be pretty big; I'll be honest it might actually look kinda retarded.

Actually, lettuce discuss this more. Anyone shoot any rimfires with comps? Make a difference? I think I'm going to thread my Kadet kit, and wouldn't mind putting a comp on it.

  12. I'd be curious if you'd have an effective volume of gas to make a comp do anything at all, especially in a rifle where the gas is lower pressure at the muzzle than a pistol.

You can buy VQ one with the comp built into it, but its crazy expensive. Like twice the price of the TacSol barrel.

Get your barrel threaded, put a fake silencer on it, and call it a day.

I often find myself wishing I had a muzzle brake for my 10/22. The rimfire's recoil is just too much for me.

If you're dead set on something like that, return the barrel buy the threaded version and buy the matched compensator.
