the only thing ive done to mine is get a cheep red dot and a rail :wiggle:

ive been looking at synthetic stocks and bull barrels, but my bank account won't let me have fun for a while :hs:

also, it will eat just about anything. mine has 1500 rounds through it with zero malfunctions

My 10/22 will eat about anything. It's the mags that need to be decent. I ordered this because I thought the factory trigger pull kind of sucked. http://www.weaponkraft.itgo.com/photo2.html

I would definitly reccoment getting the Bell & Carlson Extended Magazine Release on that page. Or pretty much any extended mag release. The factory one is terrible.

Throw a cheap 4x scope on it and you'll be good to go :)

The original mag release, you kinda have to stick your thumb up into the gun and pull out the mag. With the extended one all you have to do is press is and the mag pops out. I think it makes it a lot easier with hi-cap mags.

That kit is going in my 10/22 as soon as I have the money. :bigthumb:

I didnt realize I already had an extended mag release until my roommate brought his new 10/22 home this evening. Uness the style has changed over the years.

i dont know where the "lead plated" idea came from, he was probably spreading the popular rumor that non-plated bullets (lead bullets) destroy guns. Well, I had a ton of lead through my marlin rifle, no problems.
plus, even if lead did shorten the life of your barrel, you are still looking at thousands of rounds before you have to replace a cheap barrel.

:werd: You can get a factory 10/22 barrel for about $20 on ARFCOM.

My 10/22's got a Butler Creek barrel, some action/trigger work, scoped and rubber target stock. The think is amaizingly accurate, can easily put multiple rounds though one hole at 100yrds with no wind and will eat any ammo I put through it... I love the thing.

It all depends on what your planning on doing with it, if targets your game I'd look at the heavy barrels, scoped and bipods, the aftermarket for these guns is amaizing.

yah mostly target and varmin control, like woodchucks and the like, i hate wood chucks, they dig holes in our feilds and eat our garden, and about the feild it sucks to be glying down a feild 5th gear tapped out on my 450 and hit 3 or 4 chuck holes:eek3: . but i chose the 10/22 due to the massive aftermarket for them. and i diddent mean non lead bullets just like the outer coating, could be a rumor but last thing i want to do is fuck up a nice new gun with shitty ammo:nono:
