If the 10-22 was an L lens it wouldn't be a hard choice.
    Help me OT.

    The 17-40L.
Have you considered non-Canon alternatives? Like the Tamron 17-35mm f/2.8-4?

    What camera do you have?

My vote out of your choices is the 17-40, but you chould definitely check out the suggested Tamron.

Tamron 17-35 and Canon 17-40L get the same rating on fredmiranda.com - 8.9
But the Tamron is $200 cheaper.

I'd go with the 10-22, .. mind you, I only have minimal experience with it. 16mm equiv is VERY nice, but also might be a lot wider, than you think.

Go to a store and try it out.

Yeah, but f/2.8-4 on the Tamron is betyter than f/4 on the Canon.

ive got the tamron...look for comparisons between it and the canon...the images look the same, and the only downside is the focus speed which usually isnt a big deal on wide angle anyways
