I'm a newer WMDer. I'm getting back into shooting after having bought a Sig P220R, which i love. At any rate, i have an old Ruger 10/22 Carbine and after seeing some of the cool modded 10/22s here, i think i'd like to do some work on mine.

My dad bought this for me as my first rifle (he bought me a .22 bearcat revolver for my first gun when i was like...10 i think....) Anyway, i really enjoy shooting it. I'm not sure what kind of scope it has on it, there are no markings other than ".22 MAG" stamped into the gold circle there on the scope. As it sits now, its pretty accurate.

So any advice? I wouldnt be opposed to getting a new scope. Thanks in advance!

***EDIT: I guess the first bit of adviCe is that adviCe is spelled with a C...:hs:

first thing is a bolt buffer

after that it's up to you, barrel would prolly be the best bet, and probably a stock to go along with it if you want a bull barrel (Shaw, Whistlepig, and Green Mountain are popular budget brands, although still being very accurate)

Trigger upgrades, Target hammer, bolt release and a mag release are good suggestions

1st thing i would do is to sign up at rimfirecentral.com, ton of info over there, similar to an ARFcom for 10/22's

Scope is most likely 4x simmons cheap and effective.

The trigger pull is lightened and feels a lot better.

someone should make a 10/22 ultimate thread, but not me because I'm fucking lazy, and I only know a minimal amount when it comes to the subject.

I would because i know alot about it, but alot of it would be hearsay since i havent modified my 10/22, so i'm going off of what i've read on Rimfire Central, and i wouldnt want to mess it up, but if noone owns up i'll throw one together

"Ultimate" varies based on intended use too. It should be a stickied "share your ultimate" thread rather than an EDU IMO.
