Ok, I've been bitten by the 10/22 bug. A couple guys at work won't shut up about theirs so now I want one. I think I want to just get a scope and bipod for now and worry about a stock and trigger crap later.

Reccomend me a scope and bi-pod. Cheaper is better :o

bipod: Shooter's Ridge. It's a harris clone and pretty solid. mounts using the sling mount.

scope: depends on how cheap and how big you want. hit www.midwayusa.com (also a good place to get other 10/22 parts for later)

    Thanks for the bipod reccomendation.

I was considering the Barska 6.5-20 deal on Sportsman guide but it probably won't be good if I want to shoot ~50 yards will it? I guess somthing like 3-9 would be good and under $50. I have a Leupold 3-9 on my Remmy 700 and I love it. I don't want to spend that much money though.

The Barska will work at 50yds. I just had to learn to adjust it down. (silly me didn't see the 50yd mark on the bottom of the adjusting ring)

Simmons makes a cheap 3-9 though. I had one on my Hi Point that works.

I use my 6.5-20 Barska at 50. But at 20x, it is fucking horrible.

And why do you need a bipod? Just use the sandbags and use the money to upgrade the hammer. It trigger will feel 1000x better.

If you are going to order from sportsmanguide, I have a $5 coupon. PM me if you want it. I think it still works.

I just got a rock mount cheapo harris knock off from wally world not too long ago. For 40 bucks, it'll work for the .22.

i agree w/ the sandbag idea. and focus on the trigger pull. weaponkraft has a good package. easy install, and good results. when i shoot subsonic ammo, all i hear is the bolt closing. :big grin:

I saw a 10/22 carbine at Walmart today for $175 and the long rifle for $218 are those good prices?

I used my 10/22 with my new bipod today for the first time and I've never had tighter groups. So it seems that it was a worthwhile investment for me, but then again I already have the hammer kit.

I got "one ragged hole" at 50 with 10 rounds for the first time ever. Couldn't do it again without getting a flyer. :hs:

I think I'm going to bed the action now though. :noes:

I've been using Remington subsonic hollowpoints for a while now. They've done the best for me. It's still "cheap" ammo though. Just 1.59/box of 50 at Sportsmans Warehouse, and when they're out, 2.20/box at wally world.

I really want to try some of the wolf match ammo. I always hear good things.

Walmart shouldn't have a waiting period, your state does.

Awesome, I will PM you for it in a bit.

I kind of want a bi-pod 'cause I'll be shooting off my deck :o
I figure I can just set it right up on the railing and either sit in a chair or stand.
