Groom right before the ceremony. My favorite shot of the day.
Thanks for looking
Not quite as badass as your last wedding, but still quite a few really nice shots
Is all the crooked shots normal? My wife says people like it that way now.
Also the bowing of things, is that also normal?
That last one was taken with a fisheye lens, thus the "bowed" look. yes, it's normal. as far as those that you say are "crooked," they're not, just things like the tree, as in #22, isn't perfectly 90 degrees, thus making it look skewed.
I would love to know what kind of lenses you have in your camera bag
I like these better than the last set. I really like the one of the tree but I wish the top wasn't cut off
The last one I understand, but maybe I need to see if I got one eye higher than the other, but 80% of them are turned a few degrees. I was just asking if its a style thing maybe making the pic more interesting. I don't know much at all about shooting daytime and especially weddings.
looks good. just curious, are your clients usually happy with your work? how much do you charge?
Your previous wedding was better. Were you feeling ill? Your shots are usually inspiring.
does wifey has downz?
Still great shots as always!
In reference to those who dont like them as much,
I always think a good looking couple helps photos that normally aren't too great.
Because this couple isn't as attractive as others you have shot (not that everyone else was "hot", just more attractive), some people might not dig them as much. But thats not your fault and the couple here will still love them.
It's not that i don't like them... they're just not what i had expected. Most were very good. I daresay the worst here was still far better than anything i could force out at this point with my skills. They just weren't nearly as impressive as the previous wedding he posted. A few really stood out, but most fell short of what i had expected from Tits. Overall, i don't think it was the couple that made them weak(er), but more the location. It looked like it was a difficult place to shoot with poor lighting, etc. And many of the candids would have been impossible to set up for, unless they were faked. It didn't look like that was the case here, and thus seemed like the candids were done with the existing light.
was this the lighting in the room?
the venue and the scenery don't look like they were anything great to photograph. but w/ the elements you were given... I think they turned out great.
I really like the shot of the rings.
And your favorite shot seems kind of ironic. It almost looks like he is in jail. Is that things to come for him in his marriage?
Thanks. Each wedding has it's own uniqueness, and this one was no different.
The 'bowing' you are seeing is either due to the fisheye lens or wide angle distortion, but my 50mm also has some pretty bad distortion too
Same as always:
Thanks, and like I said, each wedding brings something unique to the table, this was no exception. I felt I did better in some parts versus my last wedding, but they are so different, it's hard to compare, at least for me.
They're not crooked, I have one leg that is shorter than the other.
Thanks. I haven't had any complaints other than this 1 bride, which wasn't my fault. I listened to her complaint and resolved her issue the best I could, and she wasn't unhappy anymore. Here is my pricing sheet.
Thanks man. You got it right, certain venues are easier to shoot, and country clubs aren't usually the most ideal locations.
lol, nah man, I was feeling great.
I actually liked some of these shots better than my last, and like I said, each wedding is unique and has it's challenges.
Sorry you feel that way.
Maybe she's born with it bro. Maybe it's Maybelline.
You have a good point about attractive couples 'making' the shot. I hate to say it, but it's true, attractive people are easier to shoot.
Well, I'll put it this way...during the prep, there were 3 different color temps But yeah, as Girth mentioned earlier, venue/locations makes a huge difference
Yes, flourescent strips FTMFL.
Thanks, I liked them too.
Lol, re: the groom shot. You know, that's essentially what happens after you get married.
I hope you're still doing this when I get married. I'll pay for your airfare to get here.
you seem to be shooting a lot of weddings lately. Are these all bookings through Bella?
if i ever get married again you will be getting a plane ticket
Just let me know, I'd be glad to fly out.
Out of the last 4, this was the only bella one.
You could always renew your vows.
you finding since your feature on strobist you're getting more bookings?
I just got divorced this summer. 15 years
