My wife is in AZ right now (for a few reasons) and she was asking around some of her friends there for someone to go shooting with her. So one guy, Alvin, said he was interested. He had never been shooting before.

So this morning she took him to the local indoor range with her XD9 and 200 rounds of ammo and apparently they had a great time. I talked with them on the phone just now and he wanted to know about how much he should expect to pay for a pistol because he might be interested in getting his CCW, etc etc.

So :h5: to my wife! :big grin:

That's awesome! going to the range with my friend and shooting his G22 made me want to buy a pistol.

The last time he and I went, I brought a lady friend of mine along and she wants to buy a pistol now as well. :big grin:

I want to bring my dad to the range some time as well since I know it'd be some good father son time, and since he liked my pistol. Hopefully it'll encourage him to find his which is lost somewheres in our house.

He hid it from us when we were kids. Basically, he stuffed it in an old coat pocket. We've not been able to find said coat :dunno:

It's a 9mm Beretta that I think is a military issue or so from the late 60s early 70s. I had hoped to find it actualy and use it as my frist pistol instead of buying one, but I'm very happy to have spent the money to buy a gun new. Given the shape all our other guns are in, I can't imagine it's faired much better (especially if it wound up in our attic).

I know, not the best gun safety, but I didn't know it existed so I never spent time looking for it.

Oh. You meant OP as in Original Poster, not... OP. I was confused for a minute.

when my father died, we searched the house for his guns... we found everything he had, but the service revolver... i'm hoping he sold it, and didn't tell anyone.

yeah, my only real concern for my dad's pistol is that the coat may have accidentally thrown away or given to goodwill or something. We figure it's still here.. just not sure where.

I'd hate to think that it was some how stolen by someone who'd visisted the house or something.
