All of the firmware updates are that large as it replaces the entire OS on the phone.

Still no SDK posted for developers.

No. The SDK isn't included in the firmware update, it would be available in the Developer Connection. All of the iPhone firmware updates have been that big. 1.1.3 was 162MB.

Seems Ziphone still works on 8GB iPhones and iPods some are reporting but ZiPhone website says you should not upgrade yet til he confirms everything is good to go. All Apple lists for this update are bug fixes.

    taken from engadget

Update: So far we've tested 1.1.4 on a jailbroken 1.1.3 iPhone and a non-jailbroken 1.1.3 iPhone, and had zero problems with either, including intact music libraries after the procedure -- your mileage may vary! We went through all of the system settings and can't spot anything new. Multiple sources are claiming ZiPhone works, but it's not fully tested and may be a little wonky at this point, so proceed with caution.

Update 2: Well, ZiPhone claims to have worked, but there aren't any icons for our installed apps, and we can't uninstall or reinstall. Also, it's worth noting that since this is a rather hefty update in terms of file size, and yet added features seem non-existant, our best guess is that this paves the way for an SDK in the coming weeks.

hmm. I've been holding off on using ZiPhone but if the SDK takes any longer I might break down and try it.

Any extra features? Or it just works now?

No extra features from what I've been reading. Some claim that it now has To Dos in Mail when using a .Mac account but others have said that has been there since 1.1.3.

Ugh. I just don't get what Apple is thinking. Hopefully they'll sorta redeem themselves by releasing the SDK soon.
