I dont think it looks as good as the 04-06 r1's did, but I am really excited to hear (and possibly) ride one with the new firing order from the moto GP bikes. The bike sounds good when the revved it, I can only imagine what one will sound like with a slip on...
Until I see one on the road I won't make any final judgement, but I like how it looks in black.
The cross plane crankshaft idea is awesome! It also seems like it may reduce the gyroscopic forces that the crank produces which naturally works against the motorcycle leaning over.
I love the headlights. HIDs FTW I love the rear tail styling, but although if the magnesium tail section cracks during a crash, no more being able to weld it, gonna have to get a new one and I bet its not cheap.
I noticed they jumped on the power maps boat to follow the Suzukis, its a great feature and selling point but I have to admit Ive never used mine other than to mess around.
Hopefully they got their fly-by-wire throttle working by now.
But at $12,500, damn. Thats a lot of dough! All the bikes keep going up every year!
I love the way it looks, its about time Yamaha updated the R1, its been so far behind of the pack for years now. Also waiting to see what Suzuki comes up with this year.
It seems like everyone does not like the looks, but Im impressed. It sounds awesome as well.
I need to see what they look like without the retarded stock ass.
white with the red seat looks terrible
it might have a serious contender for a powerplant.... but damn, that fugger is U-G-L-Y
If I wanted a bike that ugly and bulky I'd just get a Busa.
