the dsg is a little annoying if you try to run 1st gear out a longer then the ecm wants before hitting the paddle/stick. what happens is the ecm will try to shift into second but it takes a while for the ecm to figure out wtf is going on and you end up dragging balls in 3rd

it's kinda understandable, it doesn't want you to gangrape the tranny by hanging out at 7k

no it's kinda annoying since the tranny is claimed to shift faster then the enzo. the shift point is about 1000 rpm before redline. so if i want to wind out a few more rpms before shifting that shouldn't be a problem.

Yea it's how the computer still controls the tranny when you're in "manual" mode.

Indeed, the MK5 is way ahead of the previous gen in reliability.

I had a 2007 DSG GTI...it was well tweaked by APR generating 260WHP and 310WTR. It was a great car! Fun, solid gas mileage (28 MPG modified), practical as well.

What did suck, and was entirely intolerable, was VW's Customer Care and Service. The car was returned to me with Oil Leaks, screws missing, stripped lug nuts, etc etc etc. Hell, they left the car parked outside, hood open over a weekend at the dealership!

I will never purchase a VW again. Piss poor customer service and service. Avoid them like you would avoid a 400 pound chick w/ AIDS and bleeding sores.

:werd: we've found this to be 100% true. the dealership where we bought my mom's touareg was rated worst in area for a reason. original salesman was a moron, but he was fired. then the service...we brought a car in for an electrical repair; it walked out with that problem still there and a NEW one in addition.:ugh2::ugh2: god fuck. and the dealership we use to service me and my dad's passats is better, but not by enough. I get a CEL (broken sensor) 2 hours after I have a scheduled maintenance done. coincidence:hsugh:
