I like the truck , but it's the lower end model and the factory head unit/speakers SUCK.

I'm looking for something sirius ready (in replacement head unit) that is around 150 bucks... and displays more than one line of text (channel...artist name, etc) + a sirius tuner.

Replacement speakers would also be something in line. Just not sure what to get, i've done a bit of research and found there to be too many options.

There's a lot of road noise as well... I was wondering if anyone has ever had any experience with these tacoma's and what you have to do to quiet the road noise down.

you can also do the dynamat, etc....it's very easy. if you can put on a sticker, then you can put on dynamat.

Just not sure about the effectiveness of the paint stuff versus the peel on mat.

    Check out www.CustomTacos.com
There's a whole section on audio just for your truck. People have done some absolutely insane stuff with subs, screens, dynamat, etc...

Has some pretty good stuff. I dynamatted my 05 tacomas doors with two layers of dynamat and on top of that ensolite foam. Truck is as quiet as a lexus. If i didnt have mudd terrain tires it would be very quiet. I still need to dynamat/ensolite the floors, headliners, and rear panel. ALOT of noise comes from the rear panel.
