LX coupe or sedan would probably be over 18k out the door

    you're thinking of EX coupe.

I would get a 5-speed too, so it would be less $$ for that option.

LX coupe is the middle of the road.....I'd probably get EX or Si though b/c I'd want black interior (not grey or tan) & a sunroof would be nice to have.

i have an auto 96 sedan civic as my DD.. it's perfect in the snow. only possible complaint i could think of in the snow is if you don't know how to drive you might have issues because it's a light car.

the lx coupe msrp is 16,700

add destination charge, tax, title and it it'll probably be mid to low 18's

even though its closeout of the 2007 season, i've heard dealers are still not likely to budge more than a few hundred dollars since the civic sells extremely well, unlike the large discounts on accords for example

the accords just have a huge surplus right now....it's not that they don't sell well but it's the end of the current body style, so honda used up all its old parts & made a huge supply of accords for the 2007 model year.

I had a 2001 honda prelude w/ a 5-speed & that thing was pretty bad in the snow for some reason......i miss that car though. :wtc: sold it this past year..never had a problem w/ it.

would you want a civic as your only car?

i'm thinking about it so i can save up for a smarter/better investments, like a house. a civic will hold its value & last me a long time until I have my own house & can afford something a little nicer.

I think the civic is not worth the money over the fit, although they're both good daily drivers.

Depends on how much highway travel you're going to be doing and how soft a ride you want, though.

I'd rather pay a little extra to have something that doesn't look like the fit, lol.

the new civics look pretty nice.

the windshield wipers piss me off. If they fixed those and made them work in a non-fascist manner, then I'd say it's a great car.
