Buying a first truck, used, don't know much about them. Settled on the Ram 4x4 extended cab atm, price was at $23k w/ 30k miles. Guessing all the prices for trucks jumped back to normal from 1-2 years ago? :wtc: Any specific things I should look out for?

Still have my eye on a Tacoma Dcab too, but it was $29k with 18k miles, out of my price range. Possible to get the dealer to go around 25k?

What will you be using the truck for most?

Towing/Hauling, off roading, a combination of those, or street manners with the ability to do the mentioned when needed?

No towing, just light offroading and grocery getting. Having second thoughts on the Dodge and wanting to go with Chevy now. :o They had two crew cabs, 4x4, 24k miles and 28k miles, both around 28k.

I've been looking at vehicles on cars.com and if you pay 28k for a used vehicle of any age - you're getting taken for a ride....

dodge is better with what your looking for. engine responds well to mods, lots of after market. feels more like a truck to me. i drove a bunch of chevys and gmc trucks when shopping. the gmc trucks felt too low and grandpa-ish.

The dodge would be a good truck. Fuck the tacoma and the tailgate that snaps off.

I cannot believe there is a comparison of a Dodge Ram and Toyota Tacoma going on here....

I didn't mean to make it look like that at all. It was all about price in that link.

Nah. :) Just lacking a little power. Probably better as the Dodge would've gotten me a lot of speeding tickets.

Good choice! that 3.8l is a bit timid, but with a few mods, I'm sure you could get it moving around okay. I think there's a new tuner ($300-400) for it too, so that's easy power to put in there.
