    Hey guys,

I'm looking at this used zx6r and I dont know really that much about kawasaki. I've owned a gsxr600 and sat on a r6, but I'm not sure which one to go with. This is bike is just for fun, but before I buy one I want to make sure it's the right choice. What is the opinions of the bike crew, pros and cons of the ninja.

    Thanks guys

    636?

    Great bike IMO.

Very comfortable, quicker then most other 600's, reliable, and look good.

How much is he asking and how many miles? I rode a 07 R6 the other day and it just didnt have the low end power like the 636 and it was alot more uncomfortable.

Your not gonna believe this, but 4 miles. The kid bought it brand new and mommy is kicking him out of the house if he doesnt get rid of it haha. He wants $7500 for it. What sucks is he won't let me ride it, which I can understand. I'm just hesitant cause I hurt my back 3 years ago and I just don't want to buy a sportsbike and find out my back kills me to the point where I can't walk.

Oh and yes it's the 636

That's what im riding now, its an 05 with 16k miles on it. I love it, I rode my friends 07 R6 and my uncles 06 GSXR600 and IMO the 636 was alot nicer then both of them all around.

Go down to a local bike dealer and ride one. The 07's I think sit a little lower and have a flatter tank, but it should feel pretty close to the same (i haven't ridden an 07 ZX6R so Im just guessing)

Now being that I've never ridden the bike, why is it so many people aren't too fond of kawasaki?

growing up any of my friends that had kawi dirtbikes always had problems with them, they just seemed to blow up all the time. i konw a few people who have new 636's and they love them. i'm sure kawi got their shit together but it just left a bad taste in my mouth.

I like the 636. It's a great bike, and is pretty awesome to ride at the track. When the suspension is set up right, it just sits on the tires with no problem, leaning and hanging off is really comfortable. I don't like the tank because it's a little wide for me, but other than that, I would say that there isn't anything else wrong with it. The seating position is more aggressive than a Honda but way less than a GSXR, and pretty comfy.

I still like my R6 more. But I'm biased. :)

Ive never lost to another 600cc bike on my 636 up to 140mph.

So what kinda problems do they have with the 636's? Mine doesn't go into 2nd gear when it gets hot and you have to like bang it in and it grinds bad. Sometimes when it gets over 200* it wont start either. Almost like its slipping out of neutral because the neutral light goes off when I hit the starter button.

Thats the only two problems Ive had with it. Other then that I love it, Ive ridden so many other 600's and none of them have the low end power like the 636, and I like that.

the o7 is a completely new bike. Very long and wide for a 600 - probably more for someone who is over 6' and 200lbs.

Out of curiosity, are you in Texas? Because I know a kid in this exact same situation. And if you're buying it from him...beware. He is a complete idiot.

the one he's looking at has 4 miles. it's basically brand new.

i have an 06 636 and absolutely love it. 7500 miles and no problems whatsoever. the thing that really sold me on the 636 is that here in hawaii bikes get stolen like hotcakes and kawi's seem to be the least wanted by thieves (knocks on wood).
