I've got an 06 dakota and need to hook it up to a trailer. Right now there is no hitch, but if I look under the back it looks like a tubular hitch w/o the receiver part. It only goes to the bumper , and I will not tow straight from the bumper. My question is, if I buy a hitch from online or u-haul, wherever, it doesn't look like i can just bolt the bitch on up there b/c of this hitch looking thing.

Does anybody know what I am talking about, if not I will take pics and get back.

Can i somehow hook up a 2" receiver to that "hitch" and be good, :dunno: i've never seen anything like this.

    that bar re-inforces the frame.

there's a small piece that bolts to it that gives you the 2" receiver. Dodge does this for some reason :shrugs: Call your dealer.

god that's retarded...okay I guess I'll do that. Any idea if there's aftermarket places that have this part, im sure the dealership is overpriced.
