Are the 05's having tranny issues? I thought it was just the older (~00-03 pre new body style change) ones. Either way I had my 00 Accord for years with no issues.

I had a '01. Dad now has it. The tranny went out on me on my way to my final, I managed to make it off the freeway redlining in 2nd gear, get home to get another car and still made it to my final on time. :eek3:

My uncle's mother-in-law has a '03-04 (newer body) and her tranny went out as well. Kind of a bad omen if you ask me, two fucked up Accords in the same family. So instead of getting another accord, I got a Scion tC instead. :o

edit: Feels like the tranny is going to give again soon. Guess Honda didn't do that good of a job replacing the blown one. :o

    Bad luck? :hsugh:

It was a known issue that Honda did nothing about. They extended the warranty, but could have easily done a recall instead. I could have been seriously fucked up by getting rear ended when the car wouldn't go any higher than 2nd gear on the freeway. Mind you that the normal crusing speed in California is 70-75. :o

Oh. Honda is still at fault. :o

I mean, it's not like you can beat on an automatic. :hs: So I don't understand why the hell it would give like that.

Are these the only two cars that you're looking at? What is your price range?

If you're gonna get the 6spd, then definitely get the accord. If you're gonna get an auto, then it doesn't really matter which one you get.

TSX isn't really in the same class. The TL suffers same problems as accord. IS300 is same price as g35 and not as nice as g35.
