im right now looking at trading in the venerable bug eyes for an STI in the next 3 months.

I have an offer for a REALLY great deal on an 04, only with 5k miles but it's black (and I kind of wanted blue w/ gold)

I could also go for an 06 and finance a small portion of it.

Between the two cars is there a reason to go with one rather than the other? is there a significant difference from 04-06 that would compel you to pay over 30k for the new one instead of mid 20's for the used one (suspection of abuse aside, since I know the 04 is VERY well taken care of and comes with a sound system from alpine)

I'm really thinking of snagging the good deal on a black 04, however I had some questions: Headlights are HID? the smaller hubs are significantly weaker? will i even notice it? I will be keeping the car stock, unlike my bug eye.

hids yes, from what ive gathered the difference in hub strength is negligible.

the new 06's have projectors, new dccd system, immobilizer on the key, and many more stuff

i love my 06, i wouldn't trade it for anything

if you want something with both get an 05

iwsti.com is a joke. Nasioc has a lot more info. The IWSTI guys are a bunch of oversensative pansy babies, and their complete lack of any sense of being a male, is only overshadowed by their extreme lack of any actual automotive knowledge.

I think the new 06 body is not as attractive as the 04-05 run.
