will i love it or should i go for a upper level 3 series.

Im thinking a 525i will be fine but will be looking for a 545. any suggestions/comments on the car.

If i cant find any m3 coupe's im going to get a 5 sedan forsure. The 3 is too small (if i have 3 ppl with me the car seems overly packed) So it hink the 5 will accomadate better.

Anything is hould worry about before purchasing? im getting one with extended factory warranty probably a 2005-2006 most likely.

After rolling in a 530 for a while, I find the 3 to be too small.

Keep in mind that I'm not that interested in pure 'speed' if you have to sacrifice comfort/style to get it.

The 5 gulps down the asphalt and makes every trip seem somehow shorter/quicker and just generally very pleasant.

This is a combination of actual speed, but also how easy it is to blaze around seemingly effortlessly.

And the biggest surprise to me is that the 5 is not a very large car. Definitely not a bloated porker.

I used to hate them so much when they replaced the previous gen but now Im actually considering an 04 525i as well :o

which 5 series should i look at though

Im thinking 525 or 530. The only differences i've noticed is litre/engine size

I want something luxury comfy to roll in and dont need speed anymore. Just something i can throw some big rims on and have a comfortable ride that still has a little pep too it.

any recomendations? Im looking to spend $30 to 35000 grand (canadian) Between 04-07 With that price im probably gettingn a 04-05 and maybe a 06 if the bargaining and/or markets are that negotiable

Take a look at a 97-99 e39 M5. Better car, cost less, more reliable, better design.

    Win.

go for the 530i...good combo of power/fuel economy/performance!

even the 525i is no slouch...but if you can't go big (545) go medium at least

if u do alot of city driving expect about 15-16 mpg on the 545!

cars in the states are a steal. I would purchase one but warranty issues would bother me also the exchange isnt the best. Although it wouldnt be a bad idea.

    Sold it yet?

I've found that cars with signs that say "xxxx under kelly blue book" always sell faster, so take a small loss and get that shit out of your way. Otherwise you risk it staying in your yard w/ a for sale sign for months.

Go as high as you can engine wise if you're looking for performance, seems obvious but the 525 feels really slow/sluggish.

i had a 3 series a while back the inside of the 5 > 3. but you need to get something other than the 525/528 if you want something that will be fast

the 545's are such a good deal now, and well worth the couple mpg hit for the extra power

Look out for '04s. They had serious reliability problems (first year of the E60 generation).
