    I'll give you the cons:

    1. A little heavy, not too bad.
    2. 04 Brakes are doodoo
    3. IRS sucks for launching/sucks some power. Looking at 20hp less than a similarly modded F-body.
    4. Back seat sucks for getting it on.

Only bad thing I can think of is the gas mileage, but that's the price you pay for having a big V8.

I found a few '05-'06 based right at 20k, which is affordable. However, how much of a difference is there between the LS1 and the LS2? Any stats, opinions on that?

50hp. the price difference now between 04 and 05-06 might be low enough to ask yourself "why bother with the ls1?" I like the dual exhaust, tail lights and hood on my 06

Pros - fun as hell, subtle (looks), respected, easily modified, comfortable
Cons - heavy, rear-tire limit :( SUCKS with any amount of snow on the ground without proper tires.
