My car has been slightly modified, just a flash and exhaust. New tires, new brakes, original clutch, garaged it's whole life. Driven like a grandma by a fussy owner (me). Has HID, Sunroof, premium sound as options.

Paint is in excellent condition (thanks to Scottwax's advice). I have never seen an older Evo 8 that looks as new as mine.

I was thinking asking $16k-$17k but then I went onto autotrader and saw that people with cars similar to mine are asking closer to $21k-$23k range.

Kelly Blue Book says $22k for excellent, $21k for good. (mine is closer to excellent than good).

I usually think Kelly is bloated. So I checked Edmunds next. They're saying about $20,000 for a "clean" car (not "excellent").

So....what the fuck. How can this car be worth that much?

Should I start out at $20,000 obo?

I think values are going to drop when the Evo X comes out so I want to sell it soon.

Because I'm an idiot and I've fallen in love with the idea of moving to a sport coupe.

A member of our credit union just paid $24,000 for a clean VIII with much much much lower miles.

I was considering selling my 2005 VIII GSR for $20,000 just to get rid of it. In your area, I would ask the same for your 03, they're pretty easy to find out here.

You could get some more if you waited a while but $20k is reasonable and should move pretty quickly.

Will the fact I have put a turboback or flashed the ECU really hurt me in the wallet?

Never dumped the clutch in this car. Never. 48k miles on the original clutch, hollar.

You know autotrader prices are a little inflated. I wouldn't want to sell that car for under $20k though.

If you still have the stock exhaust that'd probably help. The flashed ECU shouldn't make any difference. Some buyers want an unmodded car, or at least one that doesn't seem to have been modded.

Oh, I know they're inflated....I bought my car for about 28. If I could sell it for what those autotrader jokers are asking, that means my car had only lost $6000 in 4 years/47800 miles.
