Well, i've managed to narrow down my choices of SUV to these two contenders. Both seem equally capable off-road, and both have similar power figures and gas mileage.

Everything I have read on both indicates that they are problem-free when properly maintained.

The 4-Runner would be a couple thousand more expensive, and marginally more expensive on insurance.

I'd never buy an Xterra over a 4Runner, I test drove an Xterra before buying my 4Runner and the difference was night and day. The Xterra felt cheap, the ride was horrible and the interior didn't do anything for me. :dunno:

Plus, the resale on the 4Runner is #2 on the list of the top 10 SUV's with the best resale value.

I worked at a Nissan dealer...

XTERRAS ARE HORRIBLY UNRELIABLE SHITTY PIECES OF SHIT

The 4runner is WAY better in the long run, and a WAY better SUV overall.

    I would take the 4runner.

I've been in both and have friends who have had both and the 4runner is a much better vehicle overall.

How much money would you have to spend on a 4runner to get to this stage? :dunno:

I actually have no clue, just wondering.

Thank you... this comment goes a LONG way in swaying my opinion.

Anyone know a good site for 4Runner off-roading parts? If i'm not mistaken, it rides on a Tacoma frame, so Tacoma TRD parts should fit right? :dunno:
