    ive been looking into em and thinking bout buying 1 down the street,

    any personal pros/con about them?

    good reliable car. You won't be breaking any land speed records but they're good little cars.

    yea im just lookin for s fun little reliable car to get me from point a to b, figured id ask the OT gurus about common problems and things to look for on 1 that has about/more than 85k miles on it

    If it's at all feasible, spring for a 2004 Ralliart sedan. It's a much, much better car than the 2.0. Lancers seem to be about as reliable as anything else provided they are maintained properly. The timing belt must be or have been changed at 60k on either model, this is NOT optional. Otherwise just look for all the standard used car stuff (smoke from exhaust, steering noise, etc) and service records.

    Indeed, get the ralliart, much better car, handles better= safer. nicer engine, better looks, beter stereo and still cheap. Only cons is that mitsu cars dont hold value worth shit.

    Guys, guys. Crappy resale is a GOOD thing when you are buying used! It means you get more car for less money.

    Depreciation slows to a fairly uniform crawl after a few years, no matter what you buy.

    so few people sell the second time around (they usually drive em into the ground) that you're 100% correct
