i've got the inside track on a loaded '01 eddie bauer expedition and was wondering if i could draw on your collective experience to help me decide on whether this is a good deal or not.

    general specs:
    5.4L engine
    4WD
    leather interior
    flip down dvd player
    etc, etc

it has only 28k miles on it and a friend of mine that saw it said it barely looks like anyone sat in it cause the interior seats/carpet are still very nice. i haven't run the vin through carfax.com yet but i am going to in a bit. since i have a bit of an "in" with the dealer he is going to sell this to me for $20,000 + ttl. how does that rate as far as you guys are concerned? and what sort of things should i look out for in this year/model?

    thanks for the feedback

I don't know much about the expedition, however the one that I drove wandered ALL OVER the highway. I've driven many trucks and this was by far the worst ever. Felt like there was a numb spot in the steering. Although it may have just been the one I drove. Get some sort of warranty, not sure about Ford's length. Drive it. If you like it buy it. Cars are good these days, you should get some miles out of that rig.

I rolled one 3 times, and then took down a couple of trees in the process. I walked away from it by some miracle from God. So basically they are safe cars. But dang that thing was slow. The full time 4 wheel drive really holds that poor thing back. Not bad vehicles, but personally id get something else.

i ended up paying $20 grand for it. 29k miles and the interior/exterior are in near perfect condition... i dont think i could have drawn up a better deal.

on a side note, does anyone know of good places online to buy mods for ford trucks? i'm thinking about adding grill/taillight guards. thanks again

    Here's the best site on-line for F-150's.

    http://www.f150online.com/

They have some mods for sale, not the cheapest place. But their forum section is the best you'll find online for F150's and Ford trucks of all kinds.
